Quill Artwork: These magnificent pieces of artwork are true treasures! Don’t be fooled by the quality of the scan: these are 1,000x better than their pictures depict! Quilling, or paper filigree, is the art of rolling and shaping thin strips of paper to form images. Even the Vietnamese hats are made from quill strips that are wound so tight it is hard to tell they are actually made from quilling. Each piece is double-mated in a black frame with a gold-colored in-lay on the first mat. $25 each.

Quill 1: The words “on a bicycle built for two” come to mind for this piece. Even the long hair of each of the riders is made from quill, as well as the flowers in their handle-bar’s basket. Only one available.

Quill 2: A day at the market. This piece depicts Vietnamese women sorting fresh fish perhaps to sell at the market. Quantity available upon posting: 2
 

Quill 3: If this item had a title, it could be called “A Whimsical Ride.” The only non-quilled part of this piece is the background itself and the handle-bar baskets. The rest is made of quilling, even the bicycle tires are fashioned from quill strips. Simple, yet eloquent. Only one available.

Quill 4: The background of this piece is as stunning as the quilling work. The water draining from the fish net is even depicted in fine detail, and huts can be seen in the distance. Only one available.
